1. The Service
Kanisalink is a multi-tenant SaaS platform that enables registered churches in Tanzania and across Africa to communicate with their congregations via WhatsApp and a web chat widget, manage member records, publish announcements, sermons, events and FAQs, and access AI-assisted automated replies.
2. Account Registration & Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and duly authorised to act on behalf of your church or religious organisation.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us immediately at info@kanisalink.co.tz if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- One account per church is permitted. Additional staff users may be added within the same account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Kanisalink only for lawful church ministry purposes. You must NOT:
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or promotional content unrelated to your church's ministry
- Collect or process personal data of children under 16 without verifiable parental consent
- Share, sell, or transfer access to your account to third parties
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the platform
- Use the platform to spread hate speech, discriminatory, or illegal content under Tanzanian law
- Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or access controls
- Use the platform for political campaigning or commercial activities unrelated to religious ministry
- Attempt to access other churches' accounts or data
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination.
4. WhatsApp & Meta Policy Compliance
Kanisalink connects to the WhatsApp Business API operated by Meta Platforms Inc. By using these features:
- You agree to comply with WhatsApp's Business Policy and Commerce Policy at all times.
- You must obtain appropriate consent from congregation members before messaging them on WhatsApp.
- You are solely responsible for the content of messages sent through your church's WhatsApp account.
- Meta may independently suspend or restrict your WhatsApp number. We are not liable for such actions.
5. Ministry Credits (Tokens) & Payments
- AI-assisted replies consume Ministry Credits. Credits are purchased in packages and are non-refundable once consumed.
- Unused credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Credit orders are fulfilled manually after payment confirmation. We aim to activate credits within 24 hours on business days.
- We reserve the right to adjust credit pricing with at least 14 days' advance notice to registered church administrators.
- If you believe credits were deducted in error, contact us within 7 days at info@kanisalink.co.tz.
- Refunds are at our sole discretion and are limited to unused, unactivated credit orders.
6. Data Processing & Privacy
Your use of the platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. As a church using the platform:
- You are the Data Controller for your congregation members' personal data.
- Kanisalink acts as your Data Processor and will process member data only on your instructions.
- You warrant that you have a lawful basis to collect and process your congregation's data through the platform, including any required consents under the PDPA 2022.
- You must inform congregation members that their data is processed through Kanisalink.
- You agree to promptly notify us if you receive a data subject request that relates to data we process on your behalf.
7. Intellectual Property
- All platform code, branding, designs, and features are the intellectual property of Kanisalink.
- Your church's content (sermon recordings, announcements, FAQs, member data) remains your property. We claim no ownership over it.
- You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
8. Service Availability & Maintenance
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime.
- Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
- We are not liable for service interruptions caused by third-party providers (WhatsApp/Meta, OpenAI, hosting providers, mobile networks, or power outages).
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law:
- Kanisalink is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
- Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for Ministry Credits in the 3 months preceding the claim.
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated replies. Church administrators should review AI content before relying on it for ministry decisions.
10. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting us at info@kanisalink.co.tz.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
- Upon account closure, your data will be deleted within 90 days, except where retention is required by Tanzanian law.
- Unused, unactivated Ministry Credits may be refunded at our discretion upon account closure.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to church administrators by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall first be referred to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, they shall be submitted to the competent courts of Tanzania.
